Happy #4thofJuly yall! Now you know I love my Jura Happy #4thofJuly yall! Now you know I love my Jurassic Park movies and just got done watching the new one #JurassicWorldRebirth! I had heard a lot of mixed reviews on it so I went in with low expectations. The movie started out very slow and honestly did not like Scarlett Johansson’s character or the writing in the first part of the film. Once the film got going, they started adding in more characters and once they got to the dinosaurs 🦖 🦕 it got a lot more exciting! I like the family that they cast in this one (mostly the dad & the young daughter) and following their storyline. They also did a much better job in this film versus the last one in the callbacks to the original film. As a huge fan of the OG film, I really appreciate that they did go back to some of the basic things that made the first film great. A lot of scenes paralleled the original. They also had all 3 types of terrifying Dinos (water, land & air) and had the cutest dinosaur out of all the films (an Aquilops) named Dolores that stole the show! Instead of being created solely through CGI, special effects artists brought Dolores to life in an animatronic form. Mahershala Ali was also one of the highlights of the film as he gave a great performance and his character played an integral role in the film. My biggest critique of the film is that I would have casted some of the other characters differently. Overall I definitely enjoyed the scenes with the dinosaurs from a visual and cinematic standpoint. They were well composed and great lighting. I think that they made the movie action and suspenseful enough without being too graphic so that families can enjoy. Much better film than the last ones but obviously being the 7th film overall hard to recapture the exact magic of the original. Been running for those who can’t since the inaugural run in 2014 & was excited to do so again this morning even in the rainy conditions. I set a goal of 6 miles and smashed it by booking 7.82 miles! Guess all my training is paying off. Haven’t run that far in years… felt good! The shooting happened right outside of her building in the student union. Looking for a good reason to make it out to the mo Looking for a good reason to make it out to the movie theater this weekend? #TheAmateur from @20thcenturystudios definitely gives you one! Went to a screening last night and enjoyed this new spy thriller starring #RamiMalek & #LawrenceFishburne. Some good action and great supporting cast as well. Was nice to finally see a film that was made for theaters instead of something that was thrown together just for streaming purposes. I feel like a lot of the streaming films lately just pay for one or two big names and then the rest of the cast is a bit weak or the writing suffers. This was not the case with this film. The film itself follows Rami’s character as he attempts to avenge his wife’s killers. We are taken all over the world as he hunts them with many good twists and turns and very creatively done scenes.
